Peter Schiff is an entrepreneur, investment strategist and financial commentator. He is CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, a broker specializing in foreign markets and securities. He is also CEO of Euro Pacific Precious Metals, a gold and silver bullion dealer based in New York.
Through Euro Pacific Capital, based in Wesport, Connecticut, Mr. Schiff has built a name for himself by accurately predicting economic and financial meltdowns and positioning his clients accordingly. He has an excellent track record of forecasting bear markets and has been successful in profiting at times when most investors lose money.
He is a frequent guest on television, radio and internet talk shows and is frequently interviewed and cited in major financial publications. He also hosts The Peter Schiff Show on national radio.
Mr. Schiff is particularly bearish on the future of the dollar and applies a strategy of wealth protection through investments in commodities, tangible assets, foreign stocks and currencies, and especially precious metals. He was one of the more outspoken analysts warning of the great crash of 2008. His persistent pessimistic views on the economy have earned him the nickname of Dr. Doom in the financial community.

Peter Schiff was born in West Haven, Connecticut on March 23, 1963. He received a B.A. in finance and accounting from University of California, Berkeley in 1987. His financial career began at Shearson Lehman Brothers. In 1996, he acquired a small brokerage firm and reorganized it into Euro Pacific Capital, a company which now serves thousands of clients and boasts an excellent track record for predicting economic trends and utilizing unorthodox investment strategies in order make money for his clients.
Mr. Schiff was economic advisor for Ron Paul's presidential bid in 2008, and himself ran for a seat representing Connecticut in the U.S. Senate in 2010, but lost out in the Republican primary.

Mr. Schiff continues to issue gloomy predictions on the world economy, and is especially bearish when it comes to the US dollar and economy. He as an ardent opponent of the Federal Reserve, and proposes reduced government spending and taxes and increased personal savings as the solution to the US debt problem. He blames the collapse in housing prices on unrestrained lending by banks and predicts a similar economic collapse in the near future triggered by sovereign debt.
