Max Keiser is an independent businessman, journalist and radio & TV broadcaster. A former stock broker on Wall Street, he has worked at many media corporations and he is currently one of the most popular alternative financial pundits.
Born on January 23rd, 1960, Timothy Maxwell Keiser graduated from New York University and began his career as an equities broker on Wall Street. He dabbled in the film industry where his companies were responsible for the production of numerous films. He is most well known for his broadcasting career and as the producer of many documentaries.
His most important production was a series of documentaries covering financial markets for the Al-Jazeera series People & Power. This miniseries focused on unmasking the secret activities of the banking industry and investigating the unsavory practices committed in the world's financial markets. He specifically warns of the "Death of the Dollar" and investigates "Rigged Markets". In one of his more controversial productions, also with Al-Jazeera, Mr. Keiser created a short film titled Extraordinary Antics, in which he travels to Italy to investigate and accuse the CIA of illegal torture practices.
On BBC World News he hosted The Oracle With Max Keiser, a satirical commentary on current financial affairs which aired ten episodes in 2009.
Mr. Keiser has hosted The Keiser Report since September 2009. This financial news and analysis program airs three times weekly on the RT (formerly Russia Today) Network and includes commentary on current events and guest interviews. The show is peppered with Mr. Kaiser's trademark humor and satire and covers current events in geopolitics, economics and social trends.
Max Keiser has appeared as a guest on many TV and radio programs and is one of the more popular underground journalists working today. He accuses JP Morgan of financial terrorism and sponsors a campaign to bankrupt the investment bank by purchasing silver bullion, alluding to JP Morgan's huge exposure to short positions in the silver market. He founded the hedge fund Karmabanque, which aims to profit from declines of equity values of well-known companies that allegedly harm the environment as they suffer boycotts at the hands of environmentalist groups. He is an author for The Huffington Post and hosts the weekly radio show The Truth About Markets.
Mr. Keiser is a free-market thinker and performs investigative journalistic research into the modern financial system, at times unearthing shocking and incredulous evidence about how governments and banks work behind the scenes. He promotes the internet as the new normal for media and business and urges old-school industries such as the record and film studios to adapt their strategies to the new reality.
