James Turk is a specialist in international banking, finance and investments. He is founder and chairman of GoldMoney Network Limited, a firm offering services for investing in precious metals. Through the GoldMoney Foundation he promotes education initiatives for teaching the importance of sound money.
Mr. Turk was born in 1948 and holds a B.A. in International Economics from George Washington University, awarded in 1969. Following his studies, Mr. Turk began his business career at Chase Manhattan Bank (known today as JP Morgan Chase Bank). His work at Chase saw him on assignment in Thailand, The Phillipines and Hong Kong. In 1983 he was appointed Manager of the Commodity Department of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and relocated to the United Arab Emirates. In 1987 he resigned from this position. He then took up positions as advisor in various money management funds until founding GoldMoney with his son Geoff in 2001.

GoldMoney Network Limited is based in Jersey, one of the British Channel Islands. The company offers investment strategies for protecting wealth through acquisition of precious metals. GoldMoney offers customers the ability to purchase physical gold, silver, platinum and palladium and provides storage and certification services.

James Turk has written numerous articles on investment that can be found on his Free Gold Money Report website. He is co-author of the successful book The Collapse of the Dollar (2004).
James Turk is a proponent of the free market and identifies the government as the main source of economic hardship. He is particularly critical of the government monopoly on money creation and believes that continuous currency debasement by central banks will lead to hyperinflation and fiat currency collapse, with gold and silver taking their rightful place as money. He believes that money is a product of the free market as opposed to a creation of the government.
