Doug Casey is an entrepreneur, investor, speaker, world traveler and author. He is a highly successful speculator and perhaps is best described as a "Lifestyle Strategist", with many of his profitable decisions being influenced by factors outside the financial markets. His travels have taken him to 175 countries, in which he as resided in twelve. He currently divides his time between his three residencies in Aspen, Colorado, Auckland, New Zealand, and Salta, Argentina.

Doug Casey is the founder and president of Casey Research, an investment analysis firm specializing in capitalizing on periods of economic turmoil and uncertainty. His favorite assets for wealth protection are the natural resources,energy, foreign real estate, technology and precious metals.

Casey Research specializes in identifying, locating and developing undiscovered wealth-producing investments, usually unearthed in developing countries that are far off of mainstream investors' radar screens. Mr. Casey's investment strategy can be summed up by one of his comments made recently: 'If a country is on the U.S. travel warning list, then there is investment opportunity.'

Mr. Casey is author or contributor on popular monthly newsletters including The International Speculator and The Casey Report. He has written three books on investing, including the most successful financial book ever written at the time, Crisis Investing (1979). The International Man (1980) and Strategic Investing (1996) followed the success of Crisis Investing.

Doug Casey is a self-proclaimed anarcho-capitalist in the tradition of Murray Rothbard and Hans-Herman Hoppe, and cites Mr. Rothbard, Ayn Rand and Harry Browne as key influences in his successful career as an investor. He identifies the government as the principal source of the world's economic woes and human suffering, and frequently speaks out against State intervention in the economy, banking system and currency. Mr. Casey is an advocate of free money, deregulation of commerce and industry and elimination of taxation in all its forms. He is sometimes referred to as John Galt personified, his life views coinciding with those of Ayn Rand's intellectual and industrious hero in Atlas Shrugged.

Mr. Casey is respected around the world for his cultural and economic wisdom, and is an often invited guest, speaker and publisher in television shows and financial media.
